GM faces increased pressure from investors on climate
Large investors in General Motors Co. are urging the company to take a stronger stance against President Trump's efforts to unravel a key Obama-era climate policy. Investors initially pressured GM to publicly condemn the proposed reversal of clean car standards and better disclose its lobbying ahead of a June 4 shareholder meeting (Greenwire, May 17). Following that meeting, GM became one of 17 car companies to send Trump a letter saying the rollback would cause instability in the auto industry (Climatewire, June 7).
