Oil and gas industry continues to respond to climate, pollution concerns

More major oil and gas companies are making plans to cut methane pollution, with a major producer in the Permian Basin vowing to address climate change in its operations during the ongoing boom in the region.

Devon Energy announced this week its plans to reduce methane emissions for all of its oil and gas operations in the U.S.

The company planned to cut its methane-intensity rate to 0.28 percent, down from 2018’s rate of 0.32 percent, read a news release from Devon.
