Summer 2014
I'm currently a senior climate finance adviser at the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research in Oslo (CICERO) in Norway. I moved here in March 2018 from New York City, where I was working with the United Nations Development Program as a technical adviser to governments trying to access the Green Climate Fund. At CICERO, my team and I provide second opinions on green and sustainability bonds issued by companies, banks, and governments around the world. I'm also managing a research project that is helping investors understand the financial implications of physical climate change events, to better inform risk management strategies.
My time at As You Sow was pivotal in so many ways. Danielle and Andy had me research fugitive methane for the summer, and I still refer back to that research now when we're talking to municipal governments about mitigation strategies. The exposure to effective shareholder engagement is also invaluable - I always check to see thematic trends in shareholder proposals to either ground my understanding or strengthen an argument I'm making about the relevance of an issue. The best part about that summer was the people though: I keep in touch with Austin, Amelia and Ophir and managed to see Danielle and Andy a few times in New York as well. The As You Sow family is the best!
