Racial Justice Research Fellow
Ankitha Neelavar is a recent graduate from Tulane University with a degree in Economic Anthropology, and minors in Urban Studies and Português. While living in New Orleans for four years, Ankitha worked in the neighborhood of Hollygrove as a tutor, university liaison, and urban farmer with Trinity Community Center and the urban gardener Ms. Jeanette Bell.
After graduating, Ankitha has returned to San José, her home city, and is studying to obtain a paralegal certification. In her free time, Ankitha hikes and bikes in the Bay Area, paints, and cooks with her family.
In the future, Ankitha wants to continue to research and fight against environmental racism and the many barriers that prevent Black and brown people from stewarding their own land.
