Abigail Rome is a conservationist and environmental advocate who has worked in the eastern US and Latin America to establish and manage nature reserves, fight against climate change, support the health of communities, and raise awareness about assaults on the environment. She started and ran an ecotourism business, consulting on tourism projects and programs around the world and offering ecotours to selected sites in Latin America, Asia and Africa. And she served as the manager of Green America’s Green Business Network certification program ensuring that member companies operate according to principles of environmental sustainability and social justice.
Abi serves on the boards of American Rivers and the Dogwood Alliance, and volunteers with a private foundation supporting organizations addressing the drivers of climate change. She is a climate activist, working to reduce our fossil fuel extraction, plastics production, deforestation and loss of natural habitat. Finally, Abi loves to be active outdoors – hiking, biking, swimming, paddling, camping and enjoying nature.
