There are many studies pointing to specific benefits of diversity linked to improved culture, innovation, risk reduction, market opportunity, and attracting and retaining the best and the brightest employees. However, until now we have had insufficient quantitative data to empirically prove, at a statistically significant level, that a diversity benefit exists linked to financial performance.

Last year we released a report reviewing 277 EEO-1 forms showing the association of diversity with financial performance. This year we have 20x the data to work with, over 6,000 EEO-1 forms!

We have now analyzed these data showing workforce of a company by gender, race, and ethnicity; and have combed through the data, considering implications by sector, market cap, year, and other financial indicators to see the relationship between workforce diversity of publicly traded companies and financial performance.
