Details: Please join the Climate Safe Lending Network and Green America for a webinar aimed at kick-starting increased shareholder engagement with banks regarding the climate risk their lending poses. Building a coordinated effort on this front in 2020 is the goal so that we see a significant increase in shareholder action in the 2021 season.

Climate Safe Lending is an action-focused multi-stakeholder network of banks and bank influencers – including investors, insurance companies, consumers, civil society leaders, and others – that seeks to redirect credit towards climate-responsible clean energy projects on a massive scale. The goal of the Network is to align bank lending with the Paris Climate Accord by making lending carbon neutral in North America and Europe by 2025. The Network is part of Green America’s Center for Sustainability Solutions.

Given the global context -- increasing interest of central banks to assess and address climate risk, and the building momentum of activist campaigns against JP Morgan and others -- there is a unique window to move this initiative ahead in the US and collaborate with our UK/EU allies.
